Jamestown Reflection...

Why was Jamestown a nightmare? The three main reasons Jamestown was a nightmare are, the Native Americans, no gold, mostly the starvation. These three topic were the topics that I had been most highlighted in history.

After the colonists arrived, the Natives were not that happy about sharing their land. One day a few of the colonists were down by the river panning for gold. Since the  Natives did not like the colonists they shot one. All of the colonists were now very worried about their protection. They decided to build a fort around their camp. Once they finished the fort they were happy with their choose. They still worried about what the Native Americans would do next. What do they have planned and when are they going to act out again?

One of the main reasons that the colonists went to Jamestown was for the gold. Everyday men would go out to the river with the hot sun beaming down on their heavy clothing. Looking and looking for gold, but found nothing  They were going mad panning for the gold. As they looked for the gold the natives were getting happy because if the colonists could not find what they were looking for they would leave. Soon, the natives realized that they were wrong.

Starvation was the number one concern for the colonists. What were they going to do? They went to the head of the natives and made a deal. The deal was that John Smith, the captain, was to give them gems for food. The agreed. Thanks to the chief's daughter, Pocahontas. She told her father that it would be foolish to not take the deal. With that deal it saved many of the colonists lives. Finally, the natives and colonists did not have to worry about each other.

The Native Americans, no gold, and starvation are the three main reasons why I think Jamestown was a nightmare.
